"Kestrel" Under Sail
Dear
James and Cilla,
I own a 1961 Cheoy Lee Robb 35 Yawl built of 7/8" teak planking. Her name is
"Searcher" but I plan to rechristen her "Kestrel" during my haulout in
April. I bought her in Aameda CA last August and had her trucked up to Seattle. I'm an
active member of the Center for Wooden Boats here and hope to race her in the Wooden Yacht
Racing Association series the spring and summer. Although she's a bit of a race horse I
mainly bought her to cruise up through the San Juan and Gulf Spring Islands.
Current projects include: installation of roller furling, new sails including an
asymmetrical, teak varnishing with Smith & Co.'s CPES/Polyurethane, a new electrical
panel and new electronics.
