Lady Pirate - Cheoy Lee Offshore 50
Designed by John Alden - Launched in ‘70
General:
The
Lady Pirate has had only three owners, we have owned her for almost
18 years. She does everything well. She is comfortable as well as
fast under sail or power. Her classic lines are a joy to us. It
seems that wherever we go, there are admirers who tell us we have
the most beautiful boat in the anchorage. We have enjoyed her and
used her well and continue to do so. We are looking for new owners
who will continue to take pride in Lady Pirate and enjoy her as we
have done.
Construction:
Heavily constructed of fiberglass (never any blisters) with lead
ballast, teak overlay on fiberglass pilothouse, teak interior,
stainless steel fiberglass covered rudder.
Interior:
Lady
Pirate is the only Cheoy Lee Offshore 50 built with the John Alden
layout. From the cockpit, you enter a spacious deckhouse with galley
aft to port, a dropleaf table forward of the galley to port. There
are 4 hand carved teak swivel chairs at the table. The galley has a
Shipmate 3 burner propane stove with oven. There is also a 12 volt
refrigerator freezer and an engine driven refrigerator freezer. To
starboard is an aft quarter berth. Forward in the deckhouse is an
inside steering station with hand carved teak swivel chair. Moving
forward you enter the main saloon with full chart table to starboard
with another hand carved teak chair. To port is a settee that
converts to a double berth, with a pilot berth outboard to port.
There is also a drop down table for dining in the main saloon. The
entire main saloon feels more like a library with bookshelves on the
forward bulkhead. Continuing forward there is a full height vanity
to starboard. There are cabinets, a mirror and drawers for storage.
To port of the vanity is the head with shower and tub. In the bow is
a V-berth that converts to a king-size bed. There is a wash basin
with vanity in this cabin also. The large forward hatch can be
accessed by a stainless ladder out onto the deck. Forward of the
V-Berth is a chain locker accessed by a teak door. The locker is
well laid out to accommodate chain and line in separate areas.
The
Lady Pirate has been treated to a complete interior refinish during
during 2005-2007 at our dock in Punta Gorda, Florida. There are new
cushions, awnings, and hatch covers completed in 2007. 12 deck
awnings and hatch covers are included.
