We were contacted recently by Justin Thompson who currently has the world's largest collection of boating brochures including 15 - 4 drawer filing cabinets with brochures dating back over the last 100 years.

Justin has information on many companies that nobody else has including large mylars, owner's manuals, brochures, etc.   Justin has been kind enough to send Cill and I some of the brochures we were missing for the web site.  He has offered to copy the Cheoy Lee brochures for our members who are missing an original brochure for their Cheoy Lee model.

"I just started copying brochures for people, basically to cover my time and cost.  I seem to have more information on any group of boats than anyone in the world so I figure on making it publicly available.  I have a full time job, but spend about 30-40 hours a week categorizing, organizing and cross referencing builders, present and past, world wide.
I charge $10 - $25 per boat, plus postage and handling, usually more if it is in color to cover the cost of color copies.   Sometimes I have incredible amounts of information on a particular boat, example Columbias I have all the owners manuals and blue prints (to copy a file such as that would be $100 - especially with 36X48 blue prints).   Others I might have one dinky piece of paper.  I always let people know what I have and what it will cost.  I turn  the copies around in a day or two.  I accept credit cards and will turn the order around in 2-3 days."
